Objectives
?      Development and delivery of ship structural design training courses
?      To provide support to shipyard design staff involved with development of new designs

Key Responsibilities
?      Working with Staff to develop a training program to cover concept design through to preliminary design, and covers the following principle aspects:
-       Design Concept
-       Classification Rules (Common Structural Rules where applicable)
-       Ship type specific regulations  
-       Structural Arrangements Concepts
-       Strength Considerations
-       Shipbuilding Standards – Quality Control Systems
-       Direct Calculations – Direct Strength Analysis: Finite Element Method (FEM)
-       Fatigue Check
-       Classification: Background
?      Delivery of the program in China
?      Assisting in the preparation and development of training workshops, courses and seminars.
?      Development of materials for use in internal and client seminars and lectures.  
?      Supervision and development of support staff and other duties as appointed.

Essential Key Knowledge, Skills and Experience
?      Educated to degree standard or equivalent within a relevant field of Marine Engineering or Naval Architecture
?      Considerable experience and working knowledge of current ship design aspects/practices/concepts as applied to the main commercial ship design types, such as bulk carriers, tankers etc.
?      In depth knowledge of detailed design as applied to ship plan approval and construction vessel types referred to above
?      Knowledge of construction methodologies for vessel types referred to above
?      Working knowledge of class society structural rules
